Why this book
Courage is easy to claim. It is harder to prove — especially to yourself, in private, with nothing to gain. Harry Faversham does not fight for glory. He fights to remove four feathers of shame, one by one, in the heat of the Sudan, with no audience. This book asks what courage costs when there is no recognition coming. That is a more honest question than most men ever sit with.
