About
Walter's Mantel is about returning to the roots of western civilization. It's about understanding books that have stood the test of time, that have offended, inspired, and revolutionized generations. It's about exploring history, philosophy, mythology, wars, stoicism, and courage. It's about making each of us better, stronger, and more moral people.
Rot, depravity, and degeneracy has afflicted our generation. We, brothers of Western Civilization, live in a time where moral decay has inverted what is held to be right and wrong. Where attention is weaponized to convince us: lust is empowerment, greed is aspirational, and victimhood is strength.
The solution offered by Walter's Mantel is reflection. To reflect on what was normal for our people not so long ago. To reflect on the morals, the values, the identity of who we are. Then to begin a realignment. Books are the answer.
We meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 8 PM Pacific Time. A link to a X.com Space (Video conference) will be shared with subscribers. Spaces are limited, so sign up early.
We will discuss themes, how they may relate to today's world and other times in history. As well as the context around when the book was written and the impact it may have had.
We conclude with speaking to how the book affected us, and if our mind has been changed by it.
Mostly classics. Sometimes I mix it up.
Once a month, one email. A short essay on why it matters right now, and a handful of questions worth sitting with. No sponsored content. Just the book, thoughts, and your inbox.
